Lord Shiva is capable of action only when he is united
with Shakti. Otherwise He is incapable of even the slightest movement. Such being the case O Divine Mother!, how can
anyone, who has not accumulated enough
punya (merit by doing good deeds), sing Your praises or prostrate before
You who is the object of worship even
for the Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva ?.
[this is the first sloka of Soundarya Lahari of Adi
Sankaracharya]
(To be chanted six times a day to enable reunion of
couple)
